The Upper East Region Parliamentary caucus on has condemned the recent ethnic clashes between Kusasis and Mamprusis describing it as "a stab in the back" as it had further derailed all the peaceful achievements made in the past.
They appealed to the security agencies operating in the area to bring all guilty parties to book devoid of political, ethnic, social status and other affiliations
as a way of demonstrating that all are equal before the law.
This was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Dominic Azumah, Chairman of the
Caucus.
The statement appealed to the warring factions to cooperate with the Bawku Inter-Ethnic Peace Communities, security agencies and all other negotiating bodies to
achieve perpetual peace and unity in the area.
The statement said the latest clashes that claimed three lives had not only reversed all significant gains made over the years, but was also serving as an
impediment to progress to women and children who were the most vulnerable in society.
The Caucus said the insecurity in the area would scare potential investors and development in the area.
