The Western Regional Coordinating Director, Mr. David Yaro has asked civil servants in the region to work diligently to contribute to the stabilization of the country’s economy.
"It is only through hard work that government would be able to deliver to the people of Ghana, its promises of development," he said.
Mr Yaro said these at Ellembelle during an official tour of the district, to familiarize himself with the problems confronting the districts,
as well as explain the role of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) and also monitor and evaluate projects embarked on by the district assemblies.
Mr. Yaro warned civil servants who engaged in partisan politics openly, to desist from doing so since it was against the code of ethics of civil
servants.
He explained that when a party wins power, its manifesto becomes the government policy document and therefore prevailed upon heads of department of the assembly to study the areas that would benefit their departments and implement them and work assiduously to achieve a better Ghana.
Ellembelle district is his seventh destination since he embarked on the tour from 5th October 2009 at Shama. His next visit would take him through
Tarkwa Nsuaem, Amenfi East, Amenfi West and Prestea Huni-Valley.
The District Chief Executive of Ellembelle, Hon. Daniel K. Eshun thanked the Regional Coordinating Director for his visit and also used the opportunity to recount some of the numerous challenges confronting the assembly.
He appealed to government to help build an administrative block for the assembly, adding that, the assembly currently falls on the Kwame Nkrumah
motel for its offices and another place had to be rented for the other decentralized departments within the assembly.
Hon. Eshun thanked staff of the assembly for their cooperation since he assumed office and called for hard work in building a better Ellembelle.
