The Public Relations Officer of the Kadjebi version of the National Health Insurance Scheme has contested and debunked speculations that the scheme has come to a halt.

Mr. Daniel Ofori was speaking to Newsmen at Kadjebi. According to him, his outfit has embarked on institutional registration and has registered 378 clients at Kadjebi Asato.

He said 6,764 clients are using the National Health Insurance ID with 29 active members.

Mr. Ofori however mentioned the absence of a vehicle, lukewarm attitudes of people towards the scheme and also the negative perception that the change of government has stopped the programme as some of the challenges facing the scheme.

The Acting Scheme Manager, Norbert Osebre has called on service providers to desist from charging illegal fees from NHIS clients.

He said any such acts will be treated as fraud.  He disclosed that the scheme will be hooked on to the national platform on the 23rd of March to enable clients to access health care anywhere.
