This was disclosed by President John Dramani Mahama who is also the Flagbearer of the ruling National Democratic Congress when he addressed a rally attended by hundreds of party supporters at Nsawkaw lorry park in the Tain District.
The road which links the Jaman North and the Tain Districts is one of the most deplorable roads in the Brong Ahafo region notwithstanding its importance to the socioeconomic development of the people in the area and Ghana at large. It is the shortest route that links the northern part of the Brong Ahafo region to neighbouring Cote d’Ivoire.
The president told the jubilant crowd that the Tain District will benefit from the Farmer Service Centres (FSCs) to be established by the next National Democratic Congress Government.
He said the Farmer Service Centres aside from rendering services to farmers on credit, the Centres will also advance loans to farmers during the farming season to meet pressing expenditures to be paid back after harvesting their produce.
The President ceased the opportunity to introduce the National Democratic Congress Parliamentary candidate for the Tain Constituency, Hon. Akwasi Agyemang Gyan-Tutu. He urged the people to vote for the National Democratic Congress to continue its developmental agenda.
Earlier, President John Dramani Mahama paid a courtesy call on the Nsawkaw Traditional at the Nsawkaw Palace. The Acting President of the Nsawkaw Traditional Council and Asonahene of Nsawkaw, Nana Asare Kuffour was grateful to the President for the numerous developmental projects the government of the National Democratic Congress has executed in the District and at Nsawkaw in particular.
He mentioned the Nsawkaw State Senior High School, the ongoing construction of the District Hospital at Nsawkaw, school blocks at the basic level, the street lights at Nsawkaw among others.
