Akosombo Ketem to get a new classroom block

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh has cut sod for the construction of 3-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Akosombo Ketem in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.

This is in line to resolve the bad state of the classroom block situation at the area which has been a point of discussion on several media platforms in the country.

The Municipal Assembly will partly fund this project which has been initiated by Pencil of Promise, non-governmental organization. This organisation is into improving educational infrastructure system in Ghana.

Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh encouraged the community to fully participate in the construction of this project to ease the bad state of education in the area.

He further advised the community to take good care of the materials which the Assembly will be providing as part of the agreement. Some of the materials were already at the site ahead of the sod cutting which shows the commitment of Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly led by Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh.

The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Education Director, Mrs Rose Yaa Akanyi and other officers from the Directorate were at the sod cutting.

Mrs. Rose Yaa Akanyi expressed her gratitude to the Municipal Assembly, the Hon. MCE and the NGO for responding to their plea for assistance, adding the situation was leading to the collapse of the school.

She assured the donors and the Assembly of their maximum support from the Directorate.

As part of the agreement for such projects the community has to provide the unskilled labour as Pencil of Promise takes care of the skilled aspect of the labour force.
