The fertiliser was presented on behalf of the Member of Parliament for Sissala West, Hon. Mohammed Adams Sukparu, during a brief ceremony held at the forecourt of the Sissala West District Assembly’s main stores on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
The items were received on behalf of the Assembly Members and traditional authorities by the Presiding Member of the Sissala West District Assembly, Hon. Navei Shaibu.
Hon. Gbene Abudu explained that the fertiliser had been received earlier but its distribution was delayed due to logistical and timing considerations. He said the Assembly had now commenced the release of the inputs to the identified beneficiaries to support agricultural production across the district.
Under the distribution arrangement, Paramount Chiefs will receive 10 bags each, Sub-Chiefs will receive three bags each, Assembly Members will receive five bags each, landlords across the district will receive two bags each, while opinion leaders will receive one bag each.
The DCE emphasised the importance of ensuring that the fertiliser reaches the intended beneficiaries and is put to productive use to support farmers and boost food production.
He further pledged to bear the full cost of transporting the fertiliser to the various beneficiaries to ensure that the inputs reach them as quickly as possible and are utilised for their intended purpose under the government’s agricultural agenda.
The presentation was witnessed by the NDC Constituency Chairman, Hon. Mahamod Faisall, Constituency Secretary, Hon. Issah Sulemani, and other officials of the District Assembly.
The initiative forms part of the government’s broader efforts under the Feed Ghana Programme to provide farmers with critical agricultural inputs, increase productivity, enhance food security and strengthen livelihoods across the country.
