During the official swearing in ceremony to usher the officers-elect into office, Tuesday, Prince Yeboah Marfo, National Representative of the party, who doubled as the Chairman for the Constituency Electoral Committee (C.E.C.), charged the newly elected executive members to spearhead the process with absolute commitment, through which the party would win landslide victories in the constituency in subsequent years.

Mr Marfo recounted that gone are the days when their arch rivals, National Democratic Congress (NDC), claimed supremacy and took commanding lead in both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections within the constituency.

He explained that as it stood then, the electoral record as far as the declaration of results is concerned, remains equal - 2 terms apiece - for the two most glamorous parties of the nation, NPP and NDC, since the inception of the District when carved out of the erstwhile Jaman District.

Mr Yeboah Marfo, who doubles as the Principal of the Berekum College of Education (BeColEd), commended the efforts of Hon. Siaka Stevens, current Member of Parliament (MP) who did wrest power from the NDC's Alexander Asum Ahensan, then Minister of Culture and Chieftaincy Affairs, in 2012 and went ahead to retain the seat he occupies currently.

He equally hailed the current District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Adane Ankomah, the first NPP DCE, Hon. Elizabeth Obah; past chairmen and constituency executive members; polling station executive and agents; foot soldiers and the entire party fraternity for ensuring the current successful trend.

The national representative urged the new Constituency Executive members to emulate the example of their predecessors so as to ensure the party remained the notorious stronghold in the area; just as the NPP dominating the Jaman South, Dormaa and the Berekum Constituencies in the Brong Ahafo Region.

On behalf of the executive, Mr Adams Seidu, the new Chairman for the Constituency, accepted the challenge of becoming a stronghold as long overdue in that "It has been the foremost priority of the party at the constituency level."

He affirmed the executive's preparedness to work smarter to ensure the party triple their winning spree in the 2020 general elections, and to achieve extra laurels in the subsequent elections and other activities pertaining to party politics.
