Ga North to visit US Secretary-of-State to California

A high profile delegation from the Ga North Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra region, is expected to meet with the US secretary-of-State to California, Shirley Weber, in July this year.

The meeting, according to information gathered by Ghanadistricts.com, is aimed at building firm bilateral relations between Ga North Assembly and California. The visit will also help discuss some business opportunities that will inure to the benefit of the municipality.

The delegation is also expected to visit other notable places in the United States of America, including the headquarters of Google and the White-House, the seat of the US federal government.

Revealing this exclusively to Ghanadistricts.com, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ga North, Simons Sekyim, expressed his gratitude to the secretary of State for the unprecedented invite and stressed that the visit will further strengthen their cooperation for the mutual benefit of the two cities.

“This visit is a first of its kind, this is the first time a municipality in Ghana is visiting a US secretary of state, the white house and the US business group to help foster development in the municipality”, he said.

He said the visit will help bring in more investment into the Ga North municipality and the country at large, adding that the Assembly is hopeful of receiving grants from the California state to support development back home.

He again expressed appreciation to the US government for supporting Ghana's economy and also providing financial backing for initiatives and policies that are aimed at alleviating poverty in the west African state.

He insisted that the Assembly will continuously prioritize working with other states globally to address its infrastructure challenges.
