According to them, the programme is a step in the right direction by the government to help provide jobs for the people, especially the youth, who travel to various cities in search of white-collar jobs, which are non-existing.

Their support comes after President Akufo Addo had visited the district as part of his tour to the Western region.

President Akufo Addo, who said the tour formed part of his official launch of the “One District One Factory” initiative, added that the Trade Ministry led by Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanten has rolled out the programme to ensure its intended purpose.

He said the policy aims at transforming the structure of the economy from the export of raw materials to a value-added industrialized economy, adding that the policy will also be driven by the private sector.

He was optimistic that the programme will lessen the huge unemployment deficit by creating both direct and indirect jobs for the youth across the country.

He assured his government’s commitment to ensure full implementation to benefit the greater number of people.
