Speaking at the fourth general meeting of the third session of the fifth assembly, Mr. Mensah noted that the safety of the people should not be compromised hence they would their best to protect lives and property of their citizens.
He thus appealed to the assembly members and nananom to join hands and ensure there is peace in the district.
Since peace encompasses various aspects of human life, Mr. Peter Mensah expressed sorry for those whose farms unfortunately suffered the fall army warm invasion recently.
He however congratulated the District Director of Agriculture and the staff for their efforts in controlling the fall army worm situation in the district which affected 26 communities.
According the DCE, a total of two hundred and seventy five hectares of farm were sprayed out of two hundred and ninety hectares of farms affected by the fall armyworm with government providing the logistics.
He also touched on the planting for food and jobs concept which is government policy to address the challenges of youth unemployment and also to motive the youth into agriculture.
The house also approved the supplementary budget of the assembly for the year 20017.
