The 'One Village, one Farm' project, according to information gathered, would focus on crops like Cashew and maize farming in larger quantities to feed for both local and foreign markets for income.Confirming the development in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area, Mr. John Donyinah, noted that the programme was designed by the assembly to help create sustainable and reliable jobs for the youth to help discourage them from migrating to urban centers to seek white-collar jobs which are nonexistent.

He said the assembly was poised to support the communities with seedlings, fertilizers and other farm inputs that may be needed to assist their farming activities.

Mr. Donyinah, who was very optimistic about the prospects of the new initiative, further added by revealing that proceeds from the harvested crops will be used to finance community-based projects in the respective communities.

He therefore called for stakeholder support to ensure that the project comes to fruition.
