The MCE said the main purpose of the committee is to help bring sanity in the activities of drivers at the various stations and help improve revenue mobilization.
To this end, the committee is charged to among other things involve stakeholders to find lasting solutions to inappropriate parking of trucks along the main roads within the municipality, as well as to liaise with the revenue department to ensure that transport associations pay their taxes regularly.

The terms of reference of the committee therefore include:
- To assess all lorry parks within the municipality and advice the Municipal Chief Executive security and tolling.
- Assess the situation at Akwatia-line terminal and advice the suitability or otherwise of pay as u park.
- To advise of facilities needed to improve the situations with particular reference to the Akwataia-line Lorry station.
- To submit report to the Municipal Chief Executive by July 27, 2017.
The MCE also expressed confidence that the committee will come out with good results and offer suitable recommendations that will help improve situations in the stations.
