Due to the inconvenience caused by the spillage of the dam, heavy duty machines have been moved to the area to help carry out some works to improve movement of water.

The work being carried out by the Ministry of Works and Housing is to pave way for the Densu River to empty into the sea at Tsokome in Bortianor.

This according to experts, will minimize the perennial flooding in the municipality.

This spillage from the weija Dam has already caused some people living around the bank to flee their homes as the river got heavily choked at Bortianor- Tsokome and is been worked on to ensure free and easy flow into the sea.

According to the Greater Accra National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Coordinator, Mr. Archibald Cobbina, he’s putting in all efforts with his team in ensuring awareness creation on the disaster.
