According to her, this will prevent the children from engaging in social vices.

She said some parents believe children in tertiary institutions are old enough to manage their lives so they leave them unattended after enrolment and shirk their responsibilities.

She said they have to get feedback from their ward's teachers to ascertain their level of performance in school since most of the students are very curious and do not take their education seriously.

She also advised the students to eschew behaviors that could hinder their progress but rather focus on their studies and clinical activities.

Dr. Christiana Asiedu made the statement when Assinman Nursing Training and Midwifery College in Assin Fosu awarded some best performing students in the 2019-2022 academic year.

Meanwhile, Ms. Ophelia Nkrumah, the principal of Assinmam Nursing Training and Midwifery College in Assin Fosu said, student motivation is pivotal to facilitating their academic proficiency and that is the basic reason they organized the awards for best-performing students.

Further speaking in an interview with Ghanadistrict.com, Ms Ophelia Nkrumah noted that the school lacks computers, conference room and school buses to convey the students to hospitals within the region for their practical work.

She therefore called on benevolent organizations to come to their aid.
