District Chief Executive expresses concern about failure at BECE
The District Chief Executive for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese Mr William Atta-Mends, has expressed concern about the falling standard of education in the district.

Mr Atta-Mends said the recent Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results proved this, adding that the district scored 25 percent while seven schools scored zero percent, a situation which needed to be reversed at all cost.
He appealed to all stakeholders in education including the Circuit Supervisors, School Management Committee and Parent/Teacher Associations to map out strategies to reverse the trend.
Mr Atta-Mends, who was addressing school children, youth groups, community leaders, chiefs and religious groups at a special thanksgiving service to crown this year’s celebration of “Arbor Week” at Abura Dunkwa called on all households to plant a tree each and nurture it.
The theme for the celebration was; “The Earth as Community – with emphasis on Animals as Members of The Earth Community.
