Speaking at a two-week National Capacity Building Programme on leadership, governance, Internally Generated Funds (IGF), ESG frameworks, and public procurement management for heads of District Assemblies at the Palm Hotel in Accra, Mr. Yamson emphasized the need for financial sustainability to drive effective decentralization in Ghana’s governance system.

He noted that the pace of global change requires leaders who are visionary, ethical, and adaptable, capable of transforming policies into tangible community benefits.

Mr. Yamson urged Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to move beyond rhetoric and adopt innovative strategies that will improve the livelihoods of Ghanaians.

“As Chief Executives, your leadership is the bridge between national vision and community transformation,” he said, underscoring the responsibility of local authorities to align their operations with government’s broader development agenda.
