CAPE C:New ambulances to improve emergency health situations

The Central Regional Health Directorate has received four new ambulances from government for onward distribution to four districts to improve emergency health situations in the areas.
The beneficiaries include Twifo Praso, Assin Foso, Dunkwa-on-Offin and Cape Coast.
Also in order to complement the effort, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has also donated medical equipment worth $350,000 to ensure proper health delivery in the area.
The items include blood pressure equipment, delivery set, weighing scales, lights, stethoscope and autoclave among others.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Central Regional Minister, Ama Benyiwa-Doe, stated that the ambulances are expected to complement the existing 2 in the region to minimize problems that health officials go through when handling emergency situations.
The Minister on behalf of the region expressed appreciation to the government and USAID for their support towards improving health in the area and urged officials to ensure proper maintenance.
