AJUMAKO: Amputee footballer gets support

The Ajumako Enyan Essiam (AEE) District Assembly has presented a cash of GHs 25,00 to Richard Ekwam, a footballer for the Ghana’s national amputee team to assist his travel to Turkey as the only African representative to be selected into the World’s XI amputee team.
Mr. Richard Ekwam who resides in Enyan Abaasa, a community within the District received a slot to join the world’s amputee team after an intriguing performance in the just ended African Amputee competition.
Disclosing this at the assembly’s meeting, the District Chief Executive (DCE) Peter Light Koomson praised the footballer on his performance for the Ghana’s National Amputee team which has secured him an opportunity to play for the World XI as the only African representative.
He further added that the donation was to respond to the player’s plea for financial support to enable him participates with other amputee players who were also selected from their various continents to form the world team.
