|Electrification project|| |
About six communities in the Awutu Senya District of the Central Region will soon be connected to the national grid as part of efforts to fulfill the ruling NDC’s “Better Ghana” agenda.
The communities include Ofaso, Ofaada, Fianko, Pepease, Okwabena and Dankwah.
Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, the assemblyman for Ofaso/Ofaada, Gilbert F. Amissah, expressed worry on how the job has been abandoned by the contractor for lack of funds.
According to him the contractor had before complained of inadequate materials like poles and wires which subsequently followed his abandonment.
He however confirmed that the District Chief Executive, Adams Nuhu has assured the communities that the projects will continue adding that the contractor will soon be invited to discuss the way forward to enable its completion in time.
Mr. Amissah further appealed to the assembly to construct a new teachers’ quarters for the community to improve teachers’ accommodation since most of them were living outside the community.
