TMA:Kpone-Katamanso benefits from UESP projects
Kpone-Katamanso, a Sub-metro in the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) has benefited from a number of enviable development projects under the Urban Environmental and Sanitation Project (UESP) II.
They include face-lifting of 2.9 km road, 4.2km drainage, 700m road from the Kpone lorry station to the beach, construction of a culvert over the Gao Lagoon and the erection of 65 streetlights all amounting to GHs 2,022,437 and will be funded by the World Bank with support from the Government of Ghana.
Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, inaugurating the projects in the area recently indicated that the projects would improve waste management, general sanitation in the country as well as strengthens institutions in the Metropolis in the country.
The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo in his speech reiterated Government’s effort to boost the level of infrastructure in the country.
For his part, the Mayor of TMA, Kempes Ofosuware, was appreciative of the UESP initiative and assured residents that more of such development projects will be rolled-out this year.
