HOHOE : Assembly elects first female MCE

Dr Mrs Margaret Kweku has been confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Hohoe Municipality.
The 48year old Public Health Physician Specialist polled 53 votes representing 79 per cent of the votes cast to become the first ever female Chief Executive for the Assembly. She had 14 votes against.
She pledged to unify all ranks for the development of the municipality and appealed to all stakeholders especially the assembly members in rolling out projects in the municipality.
She called for hard work and dedication calling for all hands to be on deck.
The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo urged the assembly members to get in touch with their people and develop programmes in their interest.
Volta Regional Minister, Mr. Joseph Z. Amenowode commended the assembly members for accepting the president’s nominee and urged them to bury their differences and seek the interest of the people in the municipality.
