(WAMFIE) DORMAA WEST : Immorality seeping into Church- Priest
The Methodist Bishop of Sunyani, Right Reverend James Baffour-Awuah has said immorality was seeping into the fabric of the church in recent times.
He said fornication, indecent dressing and other immoral acts should not be accepted within the church and advised members to devote more of their time to the study of the Bible to obtain God’s blessing.
The Methodist Bishop was addressing members of the Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) at their biennial diocesan prayer festival at Wamfie in the Dormaa West District of Brong-Ahafo region.
More than 400 members of the fellowship attended the three-day festival which was under the theme: “Integrity-our way of life”.
Rt. Rev. Baffour-Awuah stressed the need for the youth to make conscious efforts to develop and position themselves to grow and become responsible adults rather than adopting crude methods to acquire wealth and power.
“It is a pity that young men and women of today do everything they could to become rich irrespective of the dangers associated with such acts”, he bemoaned.
The Bishop admonished female members of the fellowship especially the unemployed against the attitude of “counting on their male counterparts for survival” saying “those male friends whom you consider as your bread-winners are only interested in using you to satisfy their sexual desires and dump you afterwards”.
