Cape Coast Castle

Cape Coast Castle was originally built by the Swedes in 1653 as a fort for trade in timber and gold, but later used in the trans-Atlantic slave trade. It is one of the large commercial forts built on the Gold Coast, now Ghana by European traders and was later on upgraded it into a castle by the British.
