Krachi Dsitrict is located at the north-western corner of the Volta Region. It is bordered to the east by Nkwanta District and to the west by Kadjebi District.
The district capital is Kete-Krachi and other principal towns include Dambai, a commercial centre, and Chinderi. The district lies in between the northern part of the Volta Region’s central uplands, which are dominated by highlands. The entire district forms part of the Voltaian Basin.

President John Evans Atta Mills has assured the people of Kete-Krachi that the ferry between Krachi and Kejeji would commence operation from the first quarter of 2010 to improve economic activities in that part of the country.
