The Dangme East is located in the Eastern part of the Greater Accra Region within Latitudes 5°45 south and 6°00 north and from Longitude 0°20 west to 0°35 East. It shares common boundaries with North Tongu District at the North, south Tongu District and Dangme West District at the east and West respectively. At the south is the Gulf of Guinea, which stretches over 45 kilometres (27.9 miles).
The District covers a total land area of about 909 sq km (350 sq miles) about 28% of the total area of the Greater Accra Region.
Ada Foah, the District Capital is located at the south-eastern part, about 20km off the Accra-Aflao road, along the coast and about 2km from the Volta River Estuary. Other major settlements are Big Ada, Kasseh, Got, Anyamam, Lolonya, Akplabanya, Wokumagbe and Koluedor.

Sixty-five employees of the Dangme East District Hospital (DEDH) at Ada, were honoured for their meritorious service to the hospital with Mrs. Wilhelmina Dora Sarfowa, a nurse, emerging as the over-all best worker.
(ADA) DANGME EAST : OPD attendance shoots up Out-Patient-Department (OPD) attendance at the Dangme East District Hospital at Ada, in the Greater Accra Region increased from 14,668 in 2006 to 24,530 in 2007.
DANGME EAST : CHPS launched in district. The Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ghana Health Service (GHS), in collaboration with some Dangme communities, have launched a Community-Based Health Planning and Service (CHPS) at the Pute Presbyterian Primary and Junior High School Health Centre at Pute near Ada.
DANGME EAST : Chief fisherman upset Nene George Teye Amedallor 111, the Dangme East District Chief Fisherman, has expressed concern about illegal fishing activities going on along some coastal areas of the country.
