Welcome to Asutifi District


Asutifi District is one of the Twenty two (22) districts in Brong Ahafo. It is located between latitudes 6°40’ and 7°15’ North and Longitudes 2°15’ and 2°45’ West.  The district capital is Kenyasi, which is about 50km from Sunyani, the regional capital of Brong Ahafo, through Atronie and Ntotroso. It shares boundaries with Sunyani Municipal in the North, Tano South District to the North East, Dormaa Municipal to North West, Asunafo North Municipal and Asunafo South  District in the South West and Ahafo Ano South and North Districts (Ashanti Region) in the South East.

With a total land surface area of 1500 sq.km, the district is one of the smallest in the Brong Ahafo Region. There are a total of 117 settlements in the district  and four paramouncies, namely: Kenyasi No.1 Kenyasi No.2, Hwidiem and Acherensua.

ASUTIFI : New Nursing Training Schools for Brong Ahafo

Three nursing training institutions have been earmarked for construction in the Brong Ahafo Region.

ASUTIFI : Cyanide Spillage: Newmont To Pay GH¢ 7 Million

Newmont Ghana Gold Limited (NGGL) is to pay GH¢ 7.0 million penalty, of which GH¢ 3.1 million will go to affected communities for negligently spilling cyanide at its Ahafo Mine Project on October 8, 2009.
