The Adansi North District covers a total land area of 828 square kilometres. The capital, Fomena, is endowed with the most productive mines in black Africa, the mainstay of Ashanti Goldfields, which is one of the world’s largest gold mining companies. The Municipality shares its boundaries with Amansie East and Adansi South. Whilst the southern boundary of the District is what seperates the Ashanti and Central Regions.
