
Identified Key Development GAPS/Problems/Issues Each of the community needs and aspirations were analysed in terms of their relationship to the thematic areas of GPRS I. A strong relationship was denoted with a 2, a weak relationship with a 1, and no relationship with a 0. In turn the scores were added together and averaged. An average score of 7.9 out of a possible 10 was the result. This suggests that there is a good harmony of community needs and aspirations with the gaps/problems/issues identified under GPRS I. The scoring is provided below in Table 1.4.1.
Development Problems/Issues to the Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy (GPRS II) Each of the identified development problems/issues was analysed in terms of its linkage to the thematic pillars of GPRS II. A strong relationship was denoted with a 2, a weak relationship with a 1, and no relationship with a 0. In turn the scores were added together and averaged. An average score of 5.2 out of a possible 6 was the result. This suggests that there is a strong linkage between the identified development problems/issues and the GPRS II thematic pillars. The scoring is provided below in Table 1.5.1.
