Biakoye District forms part of the twenty five (25) Municipalities and Districts in the Volta Region of Ghana.The Administrative capital Nkonya was part of the new District and Municipalities created in the 2012 by the then president of Ghana H.E J.E.A Mills. The District shares boundaries with K adjebi District to the North, Jasikan District to the south and east, and to the west with Krachi East District.
The Cocoa Rehabilitation Project has taken off in three districts of the Volta Region.
Assembly-members of the newly inaugurated Biakoye District on Thursday questioned the "habitual absence" of their Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Kwasi Bandua from programmes of the district.
The newly inaugurated Biakoye District, accumulated a net amount of GH¢1.548 million as its share of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) between 2008 and the third quarter of 2010.
