The Wenchi District is located in the Western part of Brong Ahafo Region. It is situated at the northeast of Sunyani (Regional Capital). It lies within latitudes 7 30’ and 8o 05’ North and longitudes 2o 15’ West and 1o 55’ East. In terms of land area, Wenchi district covers 3,494 sq kilometers. The District shares boundaries with Techiman District to the west, Kintampo district on the northwest, Tain district to the east and Sunyani municipal to the south. Wenchi, the district capital is 29km from Techiman.
A circuit court in Sunyani has sentenced Alhaji Salia, a driver, to 12 months imprisonment for siphoning five gallons of fuel from a company’s vehicle at Buoku in Wenchi municipality.
