Emmanuel Frimpong Tuesday, February 7, 2017 5:11 AM

The minister designate for Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Asiamah has promised that the state will pay equal attention to all sporting disciplines following accusations that previous administrations have neglected the so called “lesser known sports” in the country.

He said several interventions have already been outlined to ensure that the over forty (40) sporting disciplines in Ghana are given the necessary attention and equal resources to operate fully.

The development, he added has the tendency of going a long way to create employment for the youth as defined in the NPP’s manifesto to create employment through sports.

Mr. Isaac Asiamah who has also been a ranking member of Parliament’s committee for Youth and Sports said this, when he took his turn to be vetted by the appointments committee of Parliament today.

He said the situation whereby football is made a priority over other sporting activities will be a thing of the past if he is duly approved by parliament to head the sports ministry.
