Kintampo South DCE warms residents against bush fire as volunteers inaugurated at farmers day
Mr. Opoku celebrated his first farmer's day with farmers and fisherfolks of Kintampo South District upon his assumption of office.

This years farmer's day had an overwhelming attendance as farmers file their exhibit ranging from ginger, cassava, yam, maize and even dogs just to mention a few.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Opoku Nyame in his speech commended the efforts of our gallant farmers and fisherfolks noting that their daily toil feeds us and keep us all alive.

He bemoaned the activities of organise hunters (forata or kye no kye no) has become rampant in the district and thus causes problems and financial lose to both farmers and the state as it has become an annual affair.



At this year's celebration, Hon. Opoku Nyame cautioned those involved in the act to put a stop to it. He made this remarks when about 20 member squad of fire volunteers trained by the GNFS were inaugurated to assist farmer to deal with bush fire.
Hon. Opoku Nyame, the DCE called on the farmers to contact the fire volunteers whenever they wish to use fire in their farms.
The MP for Kintampo South, Hon. Alexander Gyan congratulated the farmers for their hard work and called for their support for the NPP government to implement the 2022 budget in the interest of all Ghanaians.

The chief of Jema, capital of Kintampo South District, who doubles as Kyidomhene of Nkoranza Traditional Council in the Bono East Region, Nana Amponsah Gyan, warned people who cause bush fires that destroy farming activities to desist from it or face the wrath of the law.

Nana Gyan was making remarks at the Kintampo South district farmers award day celebration at Nante Zongo as chairman for the occasion.


Mr Emanuel Takyi 48, a resident of Pramposo in the Kintampo South was adjudged Overall District Best Farmer and took away assorted items including tricycle, Motorking.

Benard Okogyeapem, a resident of Jema bagged the 1st Runner up position and took away assorted items including a motorcycle.

Martin Mensah from Ntankoro walked home with assorted items including a sprayer as the 2nd Runner Up.
