The District Chief Executive, Madam Christiana Bambanya-Amadu made this known to Ghanadistricts.com on Thursday at the on-going New Year school at Legon.

She said, the community made the appeal when she visited the area to interact with the people to know their problems and how best to help them.

According to Madam Bambanya-Amadu, the chief of the community said due to the nature of the current structure, many parents refuse to send their wards to the school because if one child is suffering from any infection it can affect all the children since the condition in the school is bad.

And again said the situation had also compelled some parents to enroll their words at schools in neighbouring communities, saying this had also resulted in truancy among the children as some take to petty trading at the expense of schooling.

Madam Christiane has however given assurance that she will use all her power as a DCE to get a new classroom block and a teacher's quarters to attract teachers posted to the area and urged the chief to mobilize his people to offer communal labour for the project.

She said one of the priorities of the NPP Government is to take education serious and would not tolerate any impediment put in the way of any child to access education.
