He encouraged them not to entertain any fears but rather be confident of themselves that they will be able to reproduce all that they have been taught and learnt by answering all the questions correctly.

Mr. Woode gave this words of encouragement when he visited the Akrofuom Senior High Technical School (ASHTEC) to ascertain for himself how things are ongoing in the WASSCE in the district and also to wish the candidates well as the father of the district.

He reminded the candidates about the importance of the examinations they were undertaking especially the Core Mathematics subject which serves as an important requirement to gain admission to any tertiary institution.

The DCE also warned them not to engage in any examination malpractice which could jeopardize their results and that of the whole school.

A total of 367 candidates made up of 196 boys and 171 girls are taking part in the WASSCE examinations in the Akrofuom Senior High Technical School which happens to be the only senior high school in the district.

Officials at the centre revealed that so far they have not encountered any challenge in the organisation of the examination this year and anticipate that the remaining papers will also follow same trend.

Mr Jacob Anakpo, the Assistant Headmaster of the school revealed that authorities in the school are ensuring that the candidates are given the right atmosphere to write their examinations without any form of intimidation in order for them to pass well adding that the authorities will also not countenance on any form of examination malpractice on the part of the candidates as well as the teachers or invigilators.

Mr Francis Andoh, the District Information Officer accompanied the DCE.
