Nana Owusu Sakyi III, paramount chief of the area explained at the celebration of Bassa Brebi festival that despite the fact that the area produced more foodstuffs, successive governments had failed to rehabilitate the road.

He noted that the road was awarded on contract by former President John Dramani Mahama but has now been abandoned.

Nana Owusu Sakyi appealed to President Akufo Addo to give Sene East their share of the one district one factory, one constituency one warehouse as he promised during the 2016 campaign.

The entire Sene East has no street lights and this has increased nocturnal criminal activities, especially by Fulanis who attack and collect monies from travelers and traders at gun or knifepoint, the chief added and called on the government for immediate intervention.

In response to the chief’s call, Bono East Regional Minister who is MP for Atebubu – Amantin, Mr Kofi Amoakohene assured the people that urgent steps would be taken to address the concerns.

He said the government would act swiftly to fix the road to make life better for them and that the sod would be cut for construction work to begin before March this year and called for their support.
