MP donates generator to Muslim Community

The National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for the Afram Plains North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Betty Krosbi Mensah has supported the Muslim community with an 8500hp generator as part of her contribution to support the Eid Ul-Fitr celebration.

The donation was given to the District Chief Imam, Alhaji fuseini Osmanu on behalf of the Muslim community by the Constituency Executives of the NDC at Donkorkrom Presby JHS School Park.

In a short address delivered on behalf of the MP, Abubakar Mohammed Kabaka the Constituency Zongo Caucus Coordinator observed that "Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah, the listening parliamentarian acted swiftly after receiving a request from the Donkokrom branch of the Ghana Muslim Mission through its Chairman, Alhaji Alhassan Fuseini to come to their aid".

"This plea we believe is due to the current erratic power supply we are witnessing in this part of the country these days which is truly affecting businesses as well as their worship since they depend on electricity to enable them send information to their people when time for worship is due" he stated whiles speaking to Ghanadistricts.com

Although they requested for a smaller one, Hon. Betty Mensah, who is always passionate about her people gave them a bigger one. She again promised to donate three smaller generators every year to support the smaller mosques in the constituency and also construct a bridge to enhance easy movement of students of Islamic Bank School.

The Chief Imam of Donkokrom, Alhaji Fuseini Osmanu applauded the Member of Parliament for this wonderful gesture, to him he is extremely happy to see this because it has been his worry anytime there is light out.

"Hon. Betty has been instrumental to the development of the Muslim community, she recently supported the Muslim mission agenda to construct a teacher training at Donkokrom with an amount of Ten thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS10,000) from her Common fund and today she is supporting us again with a brand new generator".

The Chief Imam thanked and prayed for her after encouraging the constituent to support her with prayers to maintain her seat for another term.
