Minister of Agriculture applauds Agri-Impact Group

The Minister of Agriculture Dr. Bryan Acheampong has applauded Agri-Impact Group for championing the use of greenhouse technology in tackling food insecurity and post-harvest loss in Ghana amidst issues on climate change experienced around the world.

Greenhouse technology involves creating a self-contained environment that is easily controlled through a modern smart union of scientific know-how available from various software and hardware solutions.

This technology makes agriculture attractive to the new generation, as it does not require the tillage of soils. The Minister saw firsthand the potential of greenhouse technology when he visited the greenhouse at Dawhenya.

He wholly embraced it because of its potential benefits to actors along the vegetable value chain and the economy.

The minister further encouraged capacity building efforts to cover a greater number of youth in the country to garner interest in agriculture and drive home Ghana’s transformative agribusiness agenda.

The Chief Executive Officer of Agri Impact Group, Mr. Daniel Fahene Acquaye on his part thanked the minister for his visit and called on the Government's commitment towards investing in the agriculture sector particularly greenhouse technology development.

He also called for support from the Government to help fix access to the greenhouse facility and other nearby farms in the vicinity.
