MP donates 100 mattresses to Lawra SHS

The Member of Parliament for Lawra Constituency Mr.Bede Ziedeng,has donated 100 mattresses to victims of rainstorm disaster at Lawra Senior High School.

The donation was done on behalf of the Member of Parliament by the constituency executives led by the chairman.

Delivering a speech on behalf of Lawra lawmaker, Alhaji Muazu Adams the donation was meant to suppprt victims of the recent rainstorm disaster which affected the girls dormitory.

He said the the gesture came on the back of an appeal made by the headmaster and other stakeholders to the office of the MP for support.

The MP said he donated the mattresses to the school after discussing with the headmaster on the nature of the support to be given to the victims.

He added that the gesture is for the interim and joined hands in appealing to government and the Ghana Education Service to come to the aid of the school as the damage is extensive.

Receiving the donation, the headmaster of the school, Alhaji Seidu Tungbani commended the MP for the intervention while assuring that the mattresses will be used for the intended purpose

He appealed to the government and the appropriate stakeholders to support in the rehabilitation of the affected buildings.

The Municipal Education Director, Azambawu Paulina encouraged stakeholders to come to the aid of the school and urged the school to handle the mattresses with care.

The senior prefect of the school, Dimanto Diyaka Abel asked for more support as the damage is huge.

Aside the girls, some of the boys were also affected by the storm and needed similar support to improve teaching and learning.
