Samira Bawumia commissions new ICT centre

Choggu Demonstration School, in the Sagnarigu Municipality is privileged to be a beneficiary of an ultra modern Information Communications Technology (ICT) laboratory through The Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects (SEHP).

The second Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Hajia Samira Bawumia’s foundation with supports of funding from Helping Africa Foundation (HAF) and the Friends of Yamoransa Foundation (FYF) made it possible for 56-seater capacity ICT laboratory which is expected to provide demonstrative aid for teaching and learning of ICT in the school and other neighboring schools.

Other schools to benefit include, Bishops R/C, Choggu Demonstration A and B , Jisonayili M/A, Choggu Nuri Islam, Ridge A and B , Tiyumba M/A, St. Pauls R/C, Sagnarigu Girls Model School and other surrounding Schools and also to the general public.

The facility will serve its purpose by stopping academic impasse in the Municipality and boost Learning abilities of pupils in the areas of English, Maths and Science.

Speaking at the commissioning, the second Lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia said: ‘’I am confident that, through the centre, pupils from the area will leverage technology to compete with students, from across the world.”

The Municipal Chief Executive, Mariam Iddrisu in her remarks thanked the 2nd Lady, Mrs.Hajia Samira Bawumia and her donor partners for that great support.

Again she expressed her profound gratitude to Northern Deputy Regional Minister, John Benam and Deputy Ministers from both Savanna Region and North East Region and all who made is possible.
