She said the District’s Center for Agriculture Commerce and Technology (DCACT) office is ready with documentation and plans to partner any investor for the start of the proposed factory.

''We have varieties of pawpaw in abundance in the district and it would be prudent that we add value to the fruit to make it more profitable and economically viable '' she said.

Ms Govina made the appeal in an interview with Ghana News Agency (GNA) adding that the Assembly has plans to support the Amanase Aboabo gari producers who are into the production of Soyabean gari.

She said the support would be through the Commercial Local Government Forum, a non-governmental organisation which is to help the group to establish a gari processing centre, that will have a greater machine, smokeless oven and a corn milling machine to facilitate their work.

She said there is also the consideration to also add to their existing soyabean gari mix, the processing of cassave powder ''konkonte''.

Ms Govina said a tomato paste factory and a quarry factory to produce tiles is under construction in the district under the ''One District One Factory'' (1D1F) programme.

She said since her assumption of office 18 months ago, she has been able to build two CHPS compounds for Govinakrom and Obuohukrom.

Ms Govina said she has also supervised the building of school blocks for Teacher Mante, Kwaboata and the Kyekyewrekrom communities.

She said through the GETFund, the district has also benefited immensely from other educational infrastructure.

Ms Govina expressed the hope that with the efforts being made in the areas of education, health and sanitation, the District was going to be one of the best in the country.
