KWABRE E: Processed charcoal factory commissioned at Bamang
The Agricultural, Industrial and Commercial Products Limited, (AICPL) under the government’s flagship programe ‘One district, one factory’ (1D1F) has commissioned a processed charcoal and activated carbon factory at Bamang in the Kwabre East Municipality.

Mr. Robert Ahomka-Lindsey speaking at the commissioning ceremony of the factory said, the government is committed to supporting and creating an enabling environment for the private sector to grow vigorously adding that the government has commissioned two hundred (200) factories across the country under the (1D1F) policy so far.

He stated that the government introduced the ‘1D1F’ policy to help reduce the unemployment rate in the country.



The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Agricultural, Industrial and Commercial Products Limited, Alhaji Adam Sulemana said, the factory will employ over 150 workers. He noted that the factory will mainly use waste materials including rice husk, sawdust,coconut husk for production.

He further revealed that the company will produce organic fertilizer which will improve the soil for crop production to support government’s planting for Food and Jobs initiative.



The Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Nana Osei Asibey Bonsu indicated that the 1D1F policy is in existence to transform the structure of the economy from one dependent on production and export of raw materials to a value-added industrialized economy, driven primarily by the private sector.

He then urged the youth to take advantage of the initiative to better their lives.
