Gomoa East holds Town hall meeting
The Gomoa East District Assembly held its first town hall meeting at the Methodist temple to account to the people about recent developments in the district.

District Chief Executive of the area, Mr Solomon Darko underscored the importance of the meeting, explaining that, Local Government Act 936 section 40 for the various Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies to organize such periodic meeting to account to the people and also listen to their challenges.


In his keynote address, Mr. Quarm Touched on some key government policies such as the one districts one factory, planting for food and jobs, planting for food and investment and free SHS programme. He said the programmes were introduced by the government to help improve standards of living of the ordinary Ghanaian citizenry.



The DCE also advised the citizenry to always endeavor to channel their concerns through their assembly members as they are their direct representatives to the assembly.



There were presentations also by the police commander of the area, Chief of the town, head of social welfare service, District works engineer, Head of rural enterprise program and the head of National Youth Authority, who gave accounts of their performance and stewardship to the community.
