Jirapa Municipal Assembly Supports PWDs

The Municipal Chief Executive for Jirapa, Mr. Nicholas Soyiri, has presented an amount of forty-one thousand, one hundred Ghana Cedis to thirty (30) persons with disability.

This disbursement is the second tranche after he assumed office as Municipal Chief Executive.

Beneficiaries are expected to use the support in the areas of income Generation Activities such as rearing, farming, education and procurement of tricycle and clippers.

At a brief engagement with beneficiaries, Mr Nicholas Soyiri admonished them to use the money for something beneficial in order to make them self-reliant.

He informed beneficiaries that officers will be visiting them after a period of time to assess the progress of their activities and offer them the needed assistance if need be.

He also seized the opportunity to thanked the Social Welfare Department and the Social Services Sub-Committee for their unbiased process in selecting beneficiaries.

He concluded by giving assurance to PWDs leadership and members of his commitment in making available their share of the Common Fund as and when it is ready.
