NALAG elects new Executives
The National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG) has elected new Executives to steer affairs of the Association for the next two years.

The new Executives are Mr Bismark B. Nkum (President), Williams Aduum (1st Vice President), Evelyn Dansoa Boateng (2nd Vice President, Boadu Seth Oduro (Treasurer) Eric Kwaku Kusi (Trustees), Fiagbaji S. Prince (Trustees) and Mariam Iddrisu (Women Caucus Representatives).

It was however, a tight competition between Felix Mensah Nii Anang-La, Mayor of Tema and Mr Bismark B. Nkum, District Chief Executive (DCE) of Gomoa West who were both contesting for the Presidential slot.

Mr Nkum, who was initially considered an underdog, eventually pulled a massive surprise by securing a landslide victory over Felix Mensah Nii Anang-La.

He (Nkum) garnered 553 votes as against 423 managed by his closest contender, Nii Anang-La.

Addressing members after swearing in ceremony, the President-elect pledged to do his possible best to make NALAG more vibrant and relevant by creating a conducive atmosphere between Chief Executives, Presiding Members and Assembly Members to ensure healthy deliberation on matter bothering the Association.

He also vowed to operate an open door administration by ensuring accountability and transparency in every dealings of NALAG. He further assured his readiness to tirelessly to ensure that Local Government Authorities are well resourced to make their work easier.

The President again ceased the opportunity to call on members of the Association to contribute their quota in order to help move NALA G forward.
