The disaster led to early closure of school activities anytime there was sign of rain, since the windows and doors of the building were also in a deplorable state.

However, an appeal to the Member of Parliament for Yilo Krobo, Albert Tetteh Nyakotey yielded positive result as the MP renovated the entire structure and with new paintings to give the school block a new look.

The MCE who graced the commissioning of the school block on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 noted that he was supposed to move around and participate in a programme dubbed “My first day at School” but when invited by the Regional Education Director he decided to honour it and presented the uniforms to the pupils, adding that “when they are in good uniform it would motivate them enough to learn”.

Touching on the day senior high school block (E-block) that has been completed and not being used, he noted that he has called the regional education director and she has confirmed that they have taken over the school unit as those in Accra have come to inspect it, and even if manually students would be processed.

“We would find means of starting the school, we are hoping that, this would come on for the school to commence”, he said in an interview.
