The Assembly has proposed the construction of a ginger factory under the “One District One Factory” programme as part of activities to assist government’s plan to increase industries in the country

The choice for the establishment of the ginger factory is in line with the fact that ginger remains one of the major crops cultivated in the area and has potential for increased production if farmers can get ready market for their produce.

It is in view of this that the Assembly has secured about five thousand (5000) acres of land from Pampawie to start the programme.

The District Chief Executive of the District Hon. Maxwell Kofi Asiedu speaking in an interview with ghanadistricts.com said, an investor was in the district to inspect the land and has showed interest in the initiative.

According to Mr. Asiedu, the investor has set up an office to register growers who will be a start up to go into the ginger farming to supply the factory with ginger, and therefore appealed to farmers, and youth to embrace the project to be rolled out to create employment in the area.
