Asawinso Concern Youth organizes clean up exercise

The Concern Youth of Asawinso in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality has organized a massive cleanup exercise to champion the development of the community.

The cleanup exercise was joined by Schoolers Hub Foundation, De Beat Fitness Club and Ghana Police Service.

The more than three-hour exercise was carried out at the main lorry station, the entrance of Asawinso SHS, and other surrounding areas, which were cleared of both solid and liquid waste.

Mr. Richard Ankamah, Secretary of Concern Youth of Asawinso stated that, for the past years, stability had been one of the major challenges, but now appropriate measures have been taken to ensure that the association stands extraordinary to other associations in the Sefwi Asawinso Township.

According to him, social amenities have been one of the major tasks in the township. Comparing the available ones to their population, they need urgent intervention from both the government and non-governmental organizations. He stated that Sefwi Asawinso generates much revenue for Sefwi Wiawso Municipality; therefore, they deserve enough development.

And as a result of the high population and reliable revenue generator for the municipality, he can boldly declare Asawinso has met all the requirements to attain a district status, hence, the area needs to be declared a district on its own to achieve the development they deserve.

“Asawinso has been left out of the Wiawso Municipal in terms of developmental projects despite the revenue it generates to the municipality in order to fight for our own, we the youth need to come together to champion the development of Asawinso since unity is strength,” he said.

The Vice President of the association, Ebenezer Adu Yeboah, stated that Sefwi Asawinso records the highest revenue for the Municipal Assembly but all resources have been allocated for Sefwi Wiawso development. He expressed a glad feeling to finally see their dream come true for the development of Asawinso despite the challenges.

The Assembly member for Asawinso Sefwi-line Electoral Area, Mr. S. W. K. Andoh, also known as Honorable killer, could not hold his joy over how the youth had cleaned Asawinso Township.

He joined the exercise with high enthusiasm and assured all they’ll make sure they see their dreams come true in order to make Asawinso a place to be for everyone. Mr. Andoh thanked all the comrades and encouraged everybody to join with the motive of development.
