Birim Central Assembly elects new PM

The Birim South Municipal Assembly in the Eastern region has elected a new Presiding Member to help preside over its meetings and activities after several failed attempts.

Mr Clement Attafuah was elected new PM of the assembly after garnering 23 [Yes] votes as against 3 [No] votes to win the seat.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Attafuah expressed his gratitude to members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to do more to reciprocate that gesture.

He called for support and unity among members, insisting that that is the only way to ensure development in the area.

He further pledged to give off his best to the task as the PM of the assembly and also bring developmental projects to the door step of the people.

He concluded by appealing to the government to institute a common fund system for assembly members to enable them carry out their numerous difficult duties in their respective Electoral Areas.
