250 traders benefit from MASLOC loan scheme
Traders numbering about (250) have benefited from government through the Micro Finance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) which seeks to support traders with capital and soft loans to invest in their businesses.

The Atwima Nwiabiagya North District Assembly in the Ashanti region which was among the thirty eight (38) newly created Districts in the country in 2018 with the objective to bringing governance to the door steps of the citizenry, was not exempted from this government programme aimed at supporting market women and traders with soft loans in order to alleviate poverty.

The Nwabiagya North District Assembly led by Rebecca Yeboah has disbursed (MASLOC) loans to about (250) traders and market women from Barekese, the District Capital and its surrounding communities as a seed money to start ups business.

She said, the Micro Finance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) is a flagship programme initiated by the then (NPP) government to provide loans to support small businesses and assist the expansion of the existing ones.

Madam Yeboah tasked beneficiaries to avoid unnecessary spending and rather focus on daily savings for the sustainability of their various business.

She further appealed to the beneficiaries of the scheme to pay back the loans on time to enable others to also benefit from the scheme.

She was speaking at an event to disburse loans to some traders and market women from Barekese in the Atwima Nwiabiagya North District.

According to her, the facility was to support mainly traders, both men and women to get capital to inject into their small businesses.

In attendance were, the District Coordinating Director, Mr Kaleen Abdallah Adam, Hon. Nana Kwaa Dwomoh Assembly member who doubles as the Constituency Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Assembly Members and a host of other dignitaries.

Some of the beneficiaries who could not hide their joy over the unexpected support from the government outfit, thanked the (DCE) for her kind gesture.

They commended the government for prudent policies and introduction of numerous flaship programmes and initiatives geared towards creating jobs and improving livelihood of Ghanaians.

They however pledged to make good use of the money to serve the purpose of which it was disburse to pave way for others to also benefit from the scheme.
