Items disbursed include deep freezers, fufu pounding machine, knitting machine, hairdressing equipment (Hair Dryer and Sink), fruit structure, welding and grinding machine, popcorn machine and equipment, container, stove with oven, carpentry tools and equipment, start-up capitals, medical support, educational support, apprenticeship fee, white canes and mobility training for the blind union.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Mr. Abraham Kwame Antwi indicated that disability is not inability and urged the beneficiaries to make very good use of the donation so that they don’t get to the streets to beg for a living.

He made emphasis on how some persons living with disability are working hard to support their families and indicated their situation is no excuse for begging as long as they work hard to make money for themselves.

Mr. Kwame Antwi added that the government through the disability fund will continue to give hope to PWDs.

He however, added that the government cannot do it all alone since the registered number of people keeps increasing.

He further made a passionate appeal to philanthropists, private people and NGO’s to partner with the assembly to provide other forms of support to augment what the government is doing.
